This week’s spotlight illuminates sophomore Ethan Thrower – the first runner up in his two recent tournaments: The premier tournament, Lone Star Showdown, and the Pearland Invitational.
■ What are some clubs and activities you participate inoutside of tennis?
– “Barely making it through Algebra II. That’s pretty much it, I don’t really do too much but I hang out at my ranch a lot.”
■ What are your career and college plans?
– “No idea yet but whatever college I can play tennis at!”
■ What’s your favorite subject?
– “Tennis, seventh period.”
■ Who’s your favorite teacher?
– “Ms. Lopez…she teaches math.”
■ What are your hobbies?
– “I do a lot of hunting, a lot of fishing. I hang out with my friends a lot. Tennis keeps me pretty busy.”
■ What’s your favorite food or restaurant?
– “I’m a big Zaxbys guy…it’s like a better version of Cane’s. Imagine Cane’s but the chicken isn’t wet.”
■ What’s your favorite movie?
– “Jujutsu Kaisen is pretty good. I’m a big anime guy.”
■ What are your personal goals?
– “Playing D1 tennis and pass Algebra II AAC!”
■ What are the best things about your school?
– “Coach Moore and Ms Lopez. I actually appreciate the teachers.But I love environment and Ms. Long is pretty fun to hang out with sometimes.”
