Student Spotlight Ava Renee

This weeks Student Spotlight of week 1/17-19 is Ava Renee, and is the Queen of Hearts in the school play! Debuting Alice in Wonderland on the 18th!

CLUBS/ACTIVITIES: Troupe 5448’s Reporter/Historian, Precision Athletics Volleyball Club, & Volunteering.

CAREER/COLLEGE PLANS: My dream is to go premed to become a pediatrician and one day open my own practice! On the other hand I also find marketing and pr interesting so who knows what my future holds! I haven’t decided where I want to go to college specifically, but I do know I don’t want to be too far from home. Attending any UT would be a dream, hook ‘em horns!

FAVORITE SUBJECT: Unpopular opinion: AP World History and AAC Chemistry are so interesting. Though I may get a bit sleepy sometimes like the rest of us, I genuinely find learning about how the world around came to be, historically and scientifically, fascinating to learn about. Then again I’ve always been a history and science girly!

FAVORITE TEACHER: Mrs. Zamora’s class is the highlight of my day just because of how phenomenal of a teacher she is. She genuinely cares about her students and their wellbeing. She always goes the extra mile for us, from providing jackets if we’re cold to helping us with assignments every step of the way. Just the other day she filled in a students notes for them while they were in the restroom, something I’ve never witnessed a teacher do. That’s because she’s more than that, in her wise words she’s “more of a mom than a teacher”. One day I hope to be like her, generous, kind, thoughtful, and fun; someone who truly touches the heart of everyone around them.

HOBBIES: Spending time with family and friends, playing volleyball, acting, baking, bettering my appearance, shopping, crafting, and reading.
FOOD/RESTAURANT: Pasta and sushi are rightfully tied for first. Honorable mentions are going to have to be soup dumplings and Thai food. Fun fact: no matter how full I am I will always have room for a sweet treat!

FAVORITE MOVIE: Big Hero 6, Five Feet Apart, The Hunger Games, The Notebook, and so many more I cannot choose for my life.
FAVORITE BOOK/MAGAZINE: The Things We Leave Unfinished

PERSONAL GOALS: I hope to branch out and leave my comfort zone more often, for life is what happens when you’re waiting for good things to come. I want to make more time for my family and friends because high school has been passing more quickly than I’d like it to. I’m going to continue to be someone that myself and others can be proud of, whilst staying true to who I am.
THE BEST THINGS ABOUT MY SCHOOL: The best thing about my school is our potential. Everyday I see people who are passionate, people who know exactly who they’re going to be in life and exactly how they’re going to get there. Being around people like this has inspired me and made me more driven. Our schools many talents from the arts to athletics are all remarkable. In the end, we have the people who have lit this fire of determination within us, our teachers.
