This student spotlight is about Katelyn Heinlein, Senior – Class of 2027.
Q: What campus activities, sports, or hobbies outside of class are you most passionate about, and why?
A: In school, I’m an Angel, in Academic Decathlon, and in Rho Kappa. Outside of school, I volunteer at my church in the students and children’s ministry and illustrate children’s books! I also love to dance, do anything art-related, and hang out with my friends.
Q: Looking ahead after high school, what career or field of study are you going into?
A: I am hoping to attend Texas Tech to major in Psychology! After that, I plan to get my master’s to become a Pediatric Occupational Therapist.
Q: What is your favorite subject, and who are your favorite teachers?
A: My favorite subject is U.S. History. My favorite current teacher is Mr. Diaz, and my favorite previous teacher is Mrs. Pennington.
Q: What are a few of your favorite things?
A: My favorite restaurant has to be Chick-fil-A, and my favorite movie is The Proposal!
Q: What personal goals are you currently working toward?
A: My personal goals are to be more involved in my church and more focused on schoolwork.
Q: What do you love most about attending Austin High School?
A: The environment of our school and how nice everyone is! It’s so easy to love being at Austin.
