With homecoming week in full swing, the Bulldogs gear up for one of the most
anticipated games of the season, the homecoming game against Clements. The team is
confident, focused, and determined to get a win under the Friday night lights.
The team has had ups and downs this season, but players are saying that this
week feels different. Motivated by school spirit and a chance to win in front of a big
crowd, the team is determined to dominate and give everyone a game to celebrate.
“I feel good about the game,” said Kaleb Dixon. “I believe we can dominate this team
and win the game.”
That confidence is shared by many of the players, who see homecoming as a chance to
represent Austin with pride.
“Yes, I would say I’m more motivated,” said Kaleb. “Feeling like a needed win,
especially if there’s a crowd.”
For some, the motivation comes from the school spirit and the chance to give everyone
to cheer for.
“I’m feeling like we’re going to dominate the homecoming game,” said Daquy
Nguyen.”
The bulldogs have come a long way since the start of the season and players
say they’ve grown a lot.
“Started as a very young team and every week getting better.” said Koen
Hermann. “Should be a great week for our team having the school behind us.”
Even with injuries and challenges along the way, players are proud of how far
they’ve come, and they’re confident they’ll win.
“Although we have seen lots of injuries on the team, we have also learned to
overcome adversity,” said Trent McCoy. “Can’t wait to bring home a win for Austin.”
For some players, homecoming game brings nerves, excitement and a desire to
make our school proud.
“I’m feeling confident but nervous knowing there will be a larger crowd but
obviously I’ll still do my best,” said Ariese Abrahams. “I believe 100% that we will win
this game.”
