Student Spotlight: Kim Kulow

This student spotlight is on Kimberly Kulow, a member of the swim team and water polo and has made it to state. 

Q. What are some clubs and activities you participate in? 

A. I am on a club swim team, FCST. That’s really what takes up most of my time between swim meets every other weekend and practices every day after school, so I don’t have too much time for official extracurriculars, but I do have free time, 

Q. What are your career and college plans? 

A. I would really like to go D1 for swimming, I’ve already started some conversations with coaches in the mountain west. I’m also planning on majoring in environmental science or biology, and I’d like for my career to be very hands on and science related. 

Q. What’s your favorite subject?

A. Science! 

Q. Who’s your favorite teacher? 

A. I’ve had lots of amazing teachers, but one of my favorites is Mrs. Gong because she is very understanding and has miraculously helped me enjoy doing math. 

Q. What are your hobbies? 

A. I really enjoy reading and painting when I have the time. 

Q. What’s your favorite food or restaurant? 

A. My favorite food is the enchiladas and Mexican rice my grandma always makes when my family visits her.

Q. What’s your favorite movie? 

A. Gladiator. 

Q. What are your personal goals? 

A. Some of my goals this year is to make it to state for high school and to bring back some hardware. 

Q. What are the best things about your school? 

A. The best thing about Austin is that diversity and all the opportunities for clubs and extra curriculars it has to offer.
