Service for Humanity’s Trunk or Treat 2024 was held on Oct. 28. With clubs all over campus decorating their trunks – costumes, candies, and spookiness were in the air as visitors experienced different clubs’ unique takes on Halloween.
As an annual Halloween tradition looked forward to by the community, the event was attended by families, students, and teachers alike.

“It was great to see a lot of community members out and it was fun to see the kids have fun and get some candy most importantly,” AP Chemistry and AP Environmental Science teacher Rohan Patel said. “I brought my wife and three kids to Trunk or Treat, and they all had fun. They had really looked forward to getting the candy.”
With clubs from all across campus, some managed to stand out with their Halloween spirit as they sported costumes and organized games for visitors.

“Seeing different assets to our community unite to celebrate Halloween together pleased me entirely!” Service for Humanity’s co-secretary Emmanuel Anowi said. “Some trunks that stood out to me due to their fun activities and spooky decor was DECA and Newspaper.”
However, as an annual event, there are always ideas and improvements to look forward to for the upcoming year’s Trunk or Treat.
“I think something we can do better at next year’s Trunk or Treat is increasing the number of sports who participated in the event. I think it’s important for sports to get representation in events like these that allow us all to interact and boost school spirit,” Anowi said. “Additionally, having a costume contest at the end of the event would be a good idea to wrap up the fun!”
Overall, the pictures taken at the event and the conversations held about it in the days following, prove this year’s Trunk or Treat to have been successful.
“I think the visitors had a blast!” Anowi said. “There were about 20 trunks to get candy from and engaging games, so I can imagine that they were well-entertained.”
