Rho Kappa’s international festival, also known as iFest, was held on Nov. 8. The
event, organized by the social studies national honor society here at Austin, aimed to
showcase the diverse cultures that make up our school community.
IFest displayed a diverse range of cultures, from music to dance performances to
fashion shows and interactive booths. It provided students with a valuable opportunity to
discover and learn more about each other’s heritage in an enjoyable and interactive
way. The event was very successful, attracting a large crowd with students from all
grade levels participating in the festivities.
“I personally feel like the event was very successful and had a great turnout,”
expressed Inaaya Ali, Rho Kappa secretary. “Many administrators and students enjoyed
it.”
From traditional dance performances on the main stage to photo booth to
interactive stands, there was something for everyone. The lion dance was one of the top
favorites out of the twelve performances.
“They choreographed it really well,” praised sophomore, Ira Mutta. “It was super
interactive. The lions came to the audience, making it more engaging.”
The event’s success has already initiated discussions about what is to come.
Rho Kappa is excited about the highly positive feedback from attendees. The club is
dedicated to expanding on the successes of this year and creating an even more
dynamic and inclusive ifest next year.
“We will definitely have events like these at AHS in the future,” said Inaaya Ali.
“IFest will definitely happen next year, and students can rely on the event occurring for
further years as well.”
